Following a meeting with the St. Peter’s BNS Parents Association in Greenhills this week, Sinn Féin representative and candidate in Templeogue – Terenure Fintan Warfield released the following statement:

“Early last week parents were informed by the Archdiocese that all three schools in Greenhills would be closed and two new schools would be reopened on the St. Paul’s site.

“It is clear that parents and staff have had no say in the nature of the amalgamation and were informed by a letter last Friday that the Archdiocese intends pressing ahead with the new schools come September.

“Having attended a parents association meeting on Monday 3rd of February, it is very clear that parents and locals have been left in the dark regarding these changes.

“There is an urgent need for a public information meeting to address a range of concerns at this time. As no information is forthcoming, there is a need for that meeting to be held as soon as possible.”

Fintan Warfield concluded:

“Parents and teachers deserve to know what impact these changes will have and whether there is any additional information at this time.”
