On 16th December 2014, the Mayor, Fintan Warfield presented the winners of the Christmas Decoration Recycling Competition with their prizes in the County Hall. There was a fantastic response to the competition which is run annually.

The Mayor of South Dublin, Cllr. Fintan Warfield said:

“Handmade decorations are so precious. Every time you make a decoration or anything from ordinary household recyclable materials, you are helping the environment and creating something unique that can be given as gifts to your family. Once you get into the habit of thinking that way, there is no limit to the things you can create by up-cycling items and making them into new items.

“Congratulations to everyone.”

The Mayor, continued:

“I am delighted to be here to present the prizes to the winners of the Christmas Decorations Competition.

“Remember all over the Christmas to recycle and help the environment and also to recycle your trees at a location near to you after Christmas. This display of Christmas decorations has really added to the Christmas atmosphere in the Council.”
